LSBU's Momentum is designed to offer high-level education and support to growing SMEs. The programme will take 30 business-leaders on a journey that will leave them fully prepared for investment, expansion, and the rigours of running a successful business in an ever-changing economic landscape.
How it works
Momentum brings together a unique mix of academic experts and independent consultants to provide a comprehensive 12 week programme. Successful applicants will have access to:
- 8 core workshops
- 9 optional masterclasses
- 6 mentor sessions
- 2 further workshops based on user-demand
- Online resources
- Alumni events
We have two cohorts: one commencing 14th of March, the second on the 16th of May. We are currently accepting applications for both cohorts. You will simply have to indicate your preference on your application.
Our Core Workshops will last 4 hours and attendance is mandatory. The content in these sessions is essential for you in improving your business and in the development of your pitch.

Our Masterclasses will last for 3 hours and attendance is optional. After the Masterclass we will upload relevant material to our Resources section - allowing those unable to attend to still get an idea of the Masterclass' content.

- Key Account Management
- New Markets
- Intellectual Property
- Public Relations
- Pitch Deck Creation
We will use the information from your application to assign you a suitable mentor. Your mentor will assist your development throughout the programme, available to meet you for six, one hour sessions.
The programme culminates in a full-day event where all participants pitch to a panel of industry experts. By receiving constructive feedback from the panel, as well as your peers, you will leave prepared for any future client or investor pitch.
All participants of Momentum will form part of an alumni network. We will hold regular events to help maintain any relationships formed whilst on the programme, as well as form new collaborative opportunities with other graduating cohorts.
Alumni will also continue to have access to our online resources.
